Tom Landry

Here are some facts you might not know about "Tom Landry", Who for 29 years was the only coach the Cowboys had and who finished his NFL coaching Career with the third highest win total in league history.
Tom Landry was born on September 11, 1924, in Mission Texas. He Played professional football for the New York Giants for five years(1950-1955). Five years later he was head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. During the time he was coaching, he led the Dallas Cowboys twenty winning seasons in a row, many championship games, and Super Bowls. He was known for his suits in fedoras on the sidelines. Also his stoic expression. But behind that stoic expression was an intelligent mind that helps us with our Cowboys defense and the shotgun offense in NFL.

With defensive stars Bob Lilly, Randy White, along with Roger Staubach executing Tom's plays and strategies, the Cowboys reached the big game five times in the 1970s, winning Super Bowl Vl and Xll
by the combined score of 51-13.

Landry joined the U.S. Army Air Corps after one semester at the University of Texas, and flew (30) B-17 missions during during WWII before earning his discharge in 1945 is first lieutenant. His primary positions after returning to UT, were mostly defensive back and fullback. Also, even serving the team as co-captain in his senior year.
In 1990, Tom Landry was inducted into the Pro football Hall of Fame and 1993, he was inducted into the Cowboys ring of honor. After being diagnosed with myelogenous leukemia in May 1999, the coach
sadly passed away 2/12/2000.🏉👍

In my opinion Tom Landry sounds like a pretty cool guy, US Army air Corps, that's awesome. Not only just been drafted into the pro football Hall of Fame, but he was inducted into the cowboys ring of honor  that's pretty amazing
